8/8/2023 0 Comments Everything will be fine poemEven if she goes the guilt, to leave the kids behind, leaving household responsibility on husband, weighs high on mind. But when it comes to woman it becomes her biggest dilemma and most of the time end up leaving the company. There is nothing new for men to leave behind their family in search of work. Rashmi embarks on a new and tedious journey where she will be living all alone in a new city with her family managing on its own in Delhi she being travelling to and fro between Bhopal and Delhi on weekends. The story is about Rashmi who works with a PSU company and got transferred to Bhopal. We often see that that the issues that are faced by a woman who chooses to work post marriage, are quite different from issues faced by any other group especially in India. It revolves around the life of a working woman and the challenges that she faces. The book gives an insight into her psyche, her struggles, her trauma and her guilt. The author has penned real stories and experience of her transfer phase of three years. The writing style was such that sometimes you find yourself laughing out loud.Ī true memoir or journal of three years of an Indian working Woman in which she stayed away from her family in a complete strange city. The chapter wherein the author describes the effect of the decision that she makes and how it changes herself as well as her family just took my heart away. Of the entire story, I liked the last few chapters the best. Since the whole concept is present in a way of a story, it was the best thing the author could have done, as instead of overly focusing on one problem, we also get an idea as to how the protagonist manages the issue.īasically, this book revolves around a woman who gets transferred to another city and then has to make a decision of moving and living alone. The book beautifully brings out challenges from the guilt of leaving kids to making a decision between family and work. We often see that that the issues that are faced by a woman who chooses to work post marriage, are quite different from issues faced by any other group. “Woman, Everything will be fine” is one of a kind book. The author wishes to fill you with some pearls of wisdom which she acquired, at last, that was probably the main motive of writing this book! I'll still end on a positive note that this book is for those who really wish to know what happened in the life of the author and how did she manage her both responsibilities, of work and of the family. The writing and description part should have been focussed more by the author to make this ordinary looking story (which is not truly a story for me), a riveting one for the readers! The structure of chapters is also poor, probably an editing issue. I was expecting a great story but got utterly disappointed. I did not find any great literary merit in this book. This is a sort of diary by a working woman. Chapters are written in a manner as if they are written just to provide the information of the events and trifle activities of one’s life. She talks about the mess, about the rooms, about yoga in the morning, getting duped by a doctor, getting lost on the way and her battle with a bat in the dark at night in the room and then about her frequent visits to her family to manage them.Įverything is so ordinary in this book. In the entire book, she talks about those daily challenges she faces there, like living alone in a new city, shopping alone in the mall, doing gym activities. First, she abhors it and then she accepts the challenge and manages her job and family both from a distance. Probably author has mistaken the errands of her life for a story.Ī working woman gets transferred to a remote city. I read the book, it was for sure a true account of a working woman, I respect the psychological and actual difficulties of a working woman that have been penned in the book. The blurb of this book says “a true story of a working woman who, like any other working woman, is an expert juggler…”
